Rip City Revisted

Any tried and tested Portland Trail BLAZERS fan will tell you what Rip City stands for. Although this season has been a tough pill to swallow, signs of life have been seen.

We got the opportunity to attend the Blazers last regular season game this year. Ironically, they were playing the Phoenix Suns. Home team for where we will be moving to.

In the midst of a terrible season, with billionaire owner Paul Allen ( Microsoft ) threatening to sell the team, there might be a light at the end of the tunnel. Terry Porter, former Blazer star, is talking about getting a group of local investors together and possibly buying the team and arena.

At the game last night, I asked a gentleman seated in front of me, who was listening to the game on a radio feed, if Terry Porter was in the house. He said he hadn't heard anything. Right after halftime, Kimberly and I went to get a diet coke, and who did we run into, in the hallways of The Rose Garden. None other than Terry himself. So I asked Mr. Porter if I could have a picture taken with him.

Thanks Terry, and we are pulling for you to be able to purchase the team and bring it back to it's glory days of Rip Citydom.

By the way, the Suns won the game 106-96. Somewhere out there Shane Butler is a very happy camper.
