Ever since we moved to Eugene Oregon at the end of our 8th grade year, we met a group of guys who lived fairly close to our school, Monroe Junior High.
One thing we all had in common was the love of football. Not following the game, but playing it.
It wasn't uncommon for us to get together and play after school or on the weekends.
Well, 25 years later we all got together and played yet another game. We all graduated from Sheldon High School in 1982. Even though the games have been fewer and far between, since 1985, we try to get together when we can.
Now, not everyone lives in Eugene. There are about ten of us who meet to play. Two live in the Seattle area, one in Portland, six in Eugene and me in Arizona. So we don't know when will be the next time we get together to play.
I must admit, that I am rather sore after the game. My right knee is pretty sore. It is the one I had surgery on two summers ago. It also hasn't healed properly. So someday I will have to get it fixed again.
To all of the guys who played today, thanks. It was fun.
