For Mother's Day, we got up and went to church at Valley View Evangelical Church in Clackamas, Oregon.
We went out to supper at a local BBQ place. That is one of Kim's favorites. We decided it would be less crowded at supper time.
My sister, Lori and her husband Jeff and their girls came over to see Katy Beth.
Katy Beth is blessed to have a godly mother like Kimberly. She has a lot of the same virtues and characteristics as my Mom. I am thankful for a good wife as well as a loving mother in law. God is good.
It has now been about 5 1/2 years since Mom's home going.
The things she did for us growing up, only can be classified as sacrificial. At the age of 45, she and Dad, 52, decided they wanted a second family. Who at that age, today would think about adopting more kids, especially 9 month old twin baby boys? And then 7 years later another set of 8 year old twin girls.
All this after raising five kids of their own.
In a world where careers are so important, and sometimes kids get put on the back burner, I am thankful my Mom's only job was raising us. I owe so much to her. I am who I am today, because of her and my Dad.
