Video Program Needed

If there are any of you bloggers out there who know of a good video software program, please let me know.

We need a program to convert our dvd's from our video camcorder, to the internet files, such as You Tube.

We have an old Hi8 video camcorder. It uses small tapes. We would love a digital camcorder someday. So we have to copy these tapes over to dvd, and then that is where we need a software program to convert the dvd's to internet files.

Once we get this we will have lots of video files to share with you all.

I have looked at some software, but don't know which is best. These programs can cost anywhere from $ 49 - $ 300. But we are looking in the $ 100 range.
