On Sunday , Feb. 3rd, we gathered jointly, Southwest Indian Ministry Center and First Indian Baptist Church, for a Super Bowl Party. The purpose of the party was two fold. First for people to invite friends and family to watch the Super Bowl. Secondly for fellowship of the Believers.
We had about 70 people on hand to watch the New York football Giants beat the heavily favored New England Patriots, who were going for the perfect 19-0 record.
At the party we blocked out all the commercials and showed Christian music videos, shared testimonies and Pastor Shaun shared a message at halftime. For those who didn't like football we had movies and video games, as well as a craft table.
Fun was had by all, especailly those of us who were rooting against the Patriots.
I especailly wanted the Giants to win, because my twin brother is a Giants fan, and I didn't want the Pats to go undefeated. My team, the Miami Dolphins , in 1972, are the only NFL team to go undefeated, 17-0. So that preserves thier feat.
