May 27 & 28 Weekend

The weekend started out with meeting friends Todd & Laura in Portland to see a Portland Beavers baseball game. Unfortunately the game was rained out. The Beavers are a AAA minor league team for the San Diego Padres.

On Saturday I got up at 530 AM and had a Men With Vision meeting at Wichita Evangelical Church. The meeting was at 7 AM. We had a good breakfast of French toast and sausages and scrambled eggs. I thank one gentleman there for providing sugar free maple syrup. He is also a diabetic.

Later that day we drove up to Port Townsend, Washington. It is defintely beautiful country up there. We got in Saturday early evening and met our contact person (Pat) at the church. Pat and her husband Jess took us on a tour of the town and then out to eat. We want to thank them for all they did in making us welcomed.

Our service on Sunday morning was at 1100 AM. We enjoyed our time there, and even gained a new monthly supporter. We then had a potluck dinner at someones house, who is a member of the church.

On our way back to Oregon we stopped in to see a couple high school buddies of mine. We stayed with Charlie and Marci, and want to thank them for all their hospitality. Wes and his wife Amy came down and we had a BBQ on Memorial Day.
