May 6th & 7th Weekend

The weekend started with a trip Saturday morning up to Portland to meet Derrel and Ruth Hyde. The Hydes are long time missionaries from The American Indian Field. We enjoyed catching up with them on what is going on with their family. We enjoyed good fellowship at Chang's Mongollian Grill.

We stayed and house sat at my sister Lori's and her husband Jeff's place. We got to watch and feed their dog, Sandy. We thank them for a place to stay. We enjoyed our time there and loved taking care of Sandy.

On Sunday morning we drove down to Dallas, Oregon, which is about a hour and a half away. It's just west of Salem. We had a services at the Evangelical Church, a church I attended from age 4 to 4th grade. We met a couple longtime members, and renewed some old friendships. It is always good to go back to one of your old home churches. Dallas will always hold a special place in my heart and memory. We thank them for the wonderful carry in dinner for lunch.

It was good to see one of our longtime supporters at the service. They told us that the reason they supported me was because their daughters, who are twins, told them, " We got to support him, since he is a twin, and has twin sisters." We thank them for their support.

Sunday night we had a service in Happy Valley. It is in the Portland area. It was at the Happy Valley Evangelical Church. Actually it was only 3 miles from where Jeff and Lori's house is. It was a good time being there, as it was my first time at that church. It was neat to meet a couple there, whose last name is Kato. We enjoyed the group that was there. During question time I even had a boy ask me what sports I played. We hope that something we said will influence him in his walk with the Lord, or even a life involved with missions.
