This month’s family is a military family from Missouri. Mike and Sandra met at Circleville Bible College (now called Ohio Christian University). They are both very good friends of mine (Kato). I played on the Bible College Basketball team with Mike.
Mike and Sandra were married in Ohio on July 1, 1989, and I was privileged to be a groomsman. Mike was raised in Columbus, Ohio and Sandra was raised on the mission field in Kenya and Barbados.
They have two sons, Dylan and Zechariah. Dylan is 13 yrs. old and in 8th grade and was born in Lebanon, PA, while Zechariah is 10 yrs. old and in 5th grade and was born in Huntington Valley, PA. Both are currently being home schooled.
Dylan is interested in video games, legos, baseball, football (favorite team--Cincinnati Bengals--Carson Palmer), piano and T.V.
Zechariah loves football, football, football, guitar, football, skateboarding, kickball, football, video games, and T.V. Oh and did I say FOOTBALL??? (Favorite team--Green Bay Packers--A.J. Hawk)
Mike served in Iraq from March of 2003 until Feb. 2004 and then in Afghanistan from March of 2005 until Feb. 2006. Mike's current rank is CPT. but he will be up for MAJ. this summer. His title is Chaplain/Cpt. He is the chaplain for the 1/48th, a basic training battalion in Missouri.
Sandra says, “One thing to know about me and missions: Parents are not the only ones who are missionaries, kids are given awesome opportunities as well. Being on the mission field helped me to really see and understand the Spiritual needs of others and also how to go about helping those who are lost to find Christ. Also, the mission field is not only overseas; it is wherever God has planted you.”
Mike and Sandra’s goals and dreams for the future are that their children will grow up to love the Lord with all their hearts and serve Him wherever He leads them. Secondly, they want to touch the lives of those around them in a way that the others would know that Jesus' light shines in their lives. Thus this would cause them to want the same for themselves. They see so many Christian families falling apart and it is their goal to keep their family together with Christ as the center of the home. And lastly, that God would use Mike to bring young soldiers to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for so gracious putting my family and I on your website. It is kind of you to consider us in light of the great things that you do for the Kingdom of God. May God richly bless you, your wife, and daughter.
Mike
