Diabetes

Now that a couple of weeks have passed since I was diagnosed with Type I diabetes, I have learned a lot more about this disease.

Going in with a level of 737, I wasn't really aware of how serious it was and is. Yet millions of people live with the life altering changes that come with it. According to my doctor, I was on "deaths door". I felt fine and normal, other than the blurry vision, unquenchable thirst, constant urination, dry mouth, things not tasting well and a 25 lb weight loss. I guess with all that stuff, that's not normal. I guess I just adjusted to it. But I didn't feel sick.

I went to the Dietician today and she said I was doing really well in the tracking of my diet and my carb intake. So she said a follow up visit was not necessary.

As I deal with this, I know the Lord will give me the strength to deal with this.

I want to thank all of you who have been praying for us. Your e-mails and calls have been a source of real encouragement for us. God is good. All the time.
